Central Coast BC, DL6 Noeick River
Central Coast BC, DL6 Noeick River
This region of the central coast of BC is known for its rugged mountains and glacial water-fed rivers, deep inlets and natural, rugged beauty. The property is in the Great Bear Rainforest region, a recognized bio-diverse region of the BC Coast. It is 30 nautical miles from Bella Coola, which offers fuel, lodgings, shopping, essential services and boat launch facilities and is accessible by road, ferry and air services.
The 178 acre property sits at the mouth of the Noeick River, on South Bentinck Arm. Surrounded by mountains, it encompasses most of the estuary and mouth of the Noeick River on its southern and western edges. Indications are that at one point there was perhaps a homestead on the property, with an old cabin being slowly taken over by the brush and trees.
Access out to the open waters on the coast is via Burke Channel, which opens north of River’s Inlet and just above Calvert Island on the coast before heading east towards the Bentinck Arms and Bella Coola.
A portion of the property is in managed forest, and the seller advises there is potentially harvestable 2nd growth spruce on this portion. The estuary would dictate where any development was possible, as the water levels would fluctuate depending on the season. Just under half of the acreage is on the estuary. The topography is generally level, with a rising elevation on the northern border of the property.
A logging road network does run through the region, with some of those roads touching and crossing through this property. Like all logging road networks, these roads may not be passable depending on their last time of use. There are no services, this is a completely off grid property.
This is a rugged and remote property and anyone wanting to view it should be properly prepared. Please notify the listing agent of any intended site visits.
