This 9.98 acre property is located on the eastern shore of Owen Bay, which is situated on the southeast end of Sonora Island on Okisolo Channel, just above Hole in the Wall. Owen Bay has a long history; at one point it was a thriving coastal community and home to a school, church and general store. It has evolved into a quiet, coastal vacation and recreation community with a small complement of full-time residents. There are government dock facilities located in the bay.

The acreage has approximately 498ft of high bank frontage with northwest exposure. It has diverse topography which reaches back approx. 1300ft to an elevation of approx. 300ft and is beautifully forested with a modest clearing to accommodate existing improvements.

There is a registered easement for low bank easy access to and from the ocean between this lot and the adjoining lot 3. This access area has been improved with a reinforced shoreline for the installation of a ramp and dock to accommodate a barge landing. There is currently an 8x40ft galvanized steel dock in place, however a ramp has yet to be installed.

Additional improvements on Lot 2 include the construction of a path/roadway suitable for a vehicle which leads to a leveled and cleared building site on top of a bluff with beautiful views over Owen Bay. Currently a 26ft Dutchman travel trailer is at this site, with a metal roof structure and a large patio deck constructed around it. This unit is fully functional and in excellent condition.

The roadway travels approx. 40ft further up to another leveled area where a 20ft shipping container has been situated for storage of miscellaneous items and to accommodate the generator. Traveling even further up the roadway leads to a second building location, which has been leveled. From here there are beautiful views of Open Bay and Okisolo Channel.

This property is ready to enjoy and all the tools and equipment to do so are included. The Dutchman trailer has a three-way fridge, stove, furnace, water heater, toilet and shower. There are solar panels and batteries, as well as a portable generator and other equipment for use and work on the property.

Domestic water is from a shared well on Lot 3, with easement access for Lot 2.

This is an affordable consideration to acquire a coastal recreational acreage within the heart of the Discovery Islands and is ready to enjoy. It also offers future development potential as the zoning permits for a principal dwelling as well as a secondary dwelling of a max floor area of 80m2 (861sqft).

Located within the heart of the Discovery Island group and surrounded by beautiful natural scenery and an abundance of wildlife, the Sonora Island area offers all types of outdoor recreation and sport activities - fishing, boating, diving, and wildlife viewing, while seafood such as crab, prawns, clams and oysters are all available within minutes of this region. There are also a few marine parks to enjoy within close proximity, including the Octopus Island Group Marine Park which is only minutes away. Access to the property is by boat or float plane only.  Traveling to the property by boat takes a little less than 1 hour from Campbell River and approximately 40 minutes from Heriot Bay on Quadra Island. During the summer months there is regular scheduled water taxi service to and from Campbell River.
