The small coastal hamlet is located approximately 14 nautical miles from the open west coast Pacific Ocean and one of the premier fishing regions on Vancouver Island. It is 17 nautical miles from Tahsis, a small coastal community in the neighbouring inlet to the south.

Zeballos has a high demand for rental accommodations, for visitors and contractors in the area on both a day-to-day and long-term basis. This motel was most recently used as a logging company’s base, with the kitchen used to prepare meals for the workers who stayed in the accommodations.

The motel has a commercial kitchen, a large restaurant space with a sunroom, a one bedroom owner’s suite, management office and 13 rooms.

The kitchen comes complete with commercial appliances; 6 burner stove, two ovens, large griddle and grill top, deep fryer, dishwasher, fridges and freezers.  Everything is in place to start up a small diner and/or camp kitchen. 

The restaurant and sunroom areas provide sufficient area to service the entire motel when full.

The self-contained owner’s suite has a separate bedroom, bathroom, living room and full kitchen, with hardwood floors throughout the main living space. The motel office is connected to this suite, allowing efficient access for welcoming guests. There is also the option from the owner’s suite for a second bedroom, as there is a lock off door to one of the motel rooms. 

Each of the 13 guest rooms comes with two beds, furniture, a wall mounted TV, mini fridge, microwave and a three piece bathroom. The sink and counter are outside the door to the bathroom, allowing for easy access. The floors are carpeted, and each room is furnished and ready to use.

The building is heated with electric baseboard while propane is used for the kitchen appliances.

In addition to the main building there is a laundry trailer, 10ft x 40ft, with electricity and water and heated with baseboard heaters. There is also a shop trailer, 7ft x 23ft, with electricity. This trailer is in rough shape but useful for additional storage space.

The motel has a cell phone booster, currently providing the only cell phone service in Zeballos. The community does have landline telephone service, a community water system and is on the BC Hydro electricity grid.
