These two-quarter sections of property are situated
at the Mouth of Shoal Creek, which is one of two fresh
water systems at the head Port Neville. The property
encompasses both shorelines as well as a peninsula
in the centre at the mouth of Shoal Creek where the
estuary meets the ocean and the property runs up the
river for 1 mile. A good portion of the property within
these two titles is in fact the watercourse. The entire
upland area is estimated to be approximately 220 acres.
The upland area is certainly diverse; topography
ranges from primarily level to moderately sloped along
most of the shoreline with one relatively steep portion
in the North West corner. The property has been selectively
logged in areas over a number of years and is in various
stages of regeneration. Currently there is a diverse
mix of coverage from recent new growth to a fairly
good compliment of old growth. Species include cedar,
spruce, hemlock and a substantial amount of alder.
It is estimated that there maybe approximately 15,000-20,000
cubic metres of merchantable timber. There is an established
road network throughout portions of the property some
of which are readily accessible and others, which
could be easily reactivated. These roads provide extensive
access throughout the region.

The property enjoys the convenience of the Port Neville
government dock and post office located directly across
this property. Access to Vancouver Island is approximately
20 minutes away by boat - 9 miles southeast and across
Johnstone Straits to Kelsey Bay, which provides moorage,
boat launching facilities, a local grocery store, service
stations, restaurants, school, and RCMP detachment.
Central to all outdoors activities and wildlife, Port
Neville is a picturesque mainland inlet that provides
relatively well-protected areas for outdoor activities,
including excellent salmon and halibut fishing, crabbing
and prawning. Port Neville is situated in Johnstone
Straits on a portion of the mainland of British Columbia
that extends towards and is the closest geographically
to Vancouver Island. This location certainly puts one
in the heart of some of the most dramatic coastal wilderness.
The area is known for its abundance of mainland and
marine wildlife. The head of the inlet is home to a
population of resident grizzly bears - as well, the
area has a variety of mainland and marine wildlife including
the black bear, deer and smaller indigenous animals,
sea lions, & seals. The marine activity also includes
the annual migration of orca whales.
This would certainly be an interesting location for
establishing a wilderness resort or simply a great
place for a very private remote retreat.
