Undeveloped Oceanfront Acreage
|
|
|
This 28.99-acre oceanfront property
is located on the west shore at the entrance to Hecate
Cove in Quatsino. A picturesque location in this historic
community, which is central to all of the recreational
activities that this region has to offer. The property
measures 420ft across the oceanfront portion with
approximately 490ft of shoreline as the land lies.
The topography is gently sloped up from the ocean
and for the most part very user friendly.

A number
of years ago the land was logged and it is in a healthy
state of regeneration primarily in Alder. Quatsino has
a local 8km road that bisects the property as it does
most of the private lands in the area, however unlike
others there is a significant portion between the road
and the ocean, estimated to be 8 - 9 acres. |
Hydro electricity and telephone are available along
the road. Zoning permits the construction of a primary
dwelling as well as one guest cottage up to a maximum
of 400sqft for each additional 2 acres. This would allow
up to 14 residential structures. There would also be
the potential to subdivide down into smaller parcels.
All this makes for an interesting consideration that
would be well suited to an individual looking for oceanfront
with significant upland for private use or someone who
is development minded or as a shared group purchase.

| Quatsino Sound
is located on the northwest end of Vancouver Island
and is accessible only by water or float plane. Boat
launch facilities and water taxi are available 5 miles
away in Coal Harbour, which is a 20-minute drive to
Port Hardy on paved road. Port Hardy provides essential
and convenient services including: a municipal airport
with flights from Vancouver and Calgary and ferry service
connection North to Prince Rupert. Quatsino community
services include: a government dock, elementary school,
post office, church, telephone, hydro and good cellular
phone services. Quatsino Sound is the most northerly
of the large inlets on the West Coast of Vancouver Island,
which leads to the open Pacific Ocean above Brooks Peninsula.
This is a fantastic region for Sportfishing due to the
numerous runs of salmon offshore from April to September
in addition to excellent bottom fishing for halibut,
lingcod, and yellow eye Snapper. |
