Outbuildings include a 24x32 double bay shop, 7x10’ greenhouse, a small insulated garden shed, a cedar 2x4 frame with clear ‘sun-tuff’ cover material, and a large doghouse on a concrete pad in the back yard.

Double Bay Shop has two sets of 9’ barn style swinging doors and 10’ high ceilings, bathroom and a double laundry tub set up, is paneled with 4x8 plywood and is insulated with solid foam in the walls and R50 fiberglass pink in the ceiling. A small hot water tank located in the vanity in the bathroom feeds the shop and there is a filter system for the water. The interior of the shop is wired with speakers inside and outside. There is a 230 volt sub panel with several plugs for welding.

The entire shop is set up with ½ “ copper air lines (14 or more outlets) and they run in a loop for effective feed of two ½” lines for nearly all fittings. There is air plumbed from the shop into the garage and the front of the home for air tools and for filling tires etc. Some permanent shelves have been built in and there is storage above the bathroom. Heat in the shop is provided by a small wood stove with back up electric baseboards. Ceiling fans are installed in the shop as well as two high capacity exhaust fans.

Greenhouse has 115V power with concrete retaining walls and floor, and is plumbed for automatic watering as well as for automatic industrial exhaust fan cooling that can be set to activate at specific temperatures

Insulated garden shed has 115v power and is lockable. Next to the garden shed is a lit & serviced (115V) 12x16ft covered storage area ideal for utility trailer, lumber, steel or vehicles as well as an additional woodshed with capacity for about 6 cords of wood. This is sufficient, in typical winters, for about two winters of wood heat in the house.

Graham Island to the north and Moresby Island to the south are the two largest islands of a group of 1,884 islands in the “Galapagos of the North” archipelago just south of the Alaska panhandle. A 20-minute ferry ride connects Graham and Moresby Islands. The islands are relatively isolated, recreation and native culture being the main attractions. Sport fishing, hiking, camping, kayaking, boating, whale watching, beachcombing and sightseeing are the major recreational activities.

Marine and wildlife diversity of the surrounding waters and forests make it an ecological marvel. The economy is largely resource-based with logging, commercial fishing, mining, and tourism being the main industries.

Access to Haida Gwaii (Queen Charlotte Islands) is by ferry from Prince Rupert on the BC mainland, by air from Vancouver to Sandspit and by air from Prince Rupert to Sandspit. Chartering of private planes or boats is also an option.
